After wrapping five seasons as Joyce Byers on Stranger Things, Winona Ryder is officially joining Netflix’s Wednesday, for Season 3. She’ll guest star in multiple episodes as a new character named Tabitha. The announcement came via a production-start video showing a creepy-cool dinner table setup with character name cards. Tabitha appears connected to three other new characters — Cyrus (Noah Taylor), Atticus (Oscar Morgan), and Daisy (Kennedy Moyer) — all marked with a calligraphed “B,” hinting they’re part of the same mysterious thread. Ryder’s addition reunites her with longtime collaborator Tim Burton, who directs and executive produces the series. The two go way back: Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Frankenweenie, and even a Killers music video. She also recently worked with Wednesday star Jenna Ortega on Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Burton says Ryder “fits right into this world” — which is director-speak for: she belongs in the weird. Season 3 is also adding Eva Green as Morticia Addams’ sister, Ophelia.
