The trend exploded during his arena run in the U.K. and Ireland, where he looked out at crowds that basically resembled a corporate retreat for international hype men. He told the BBC the sight means more to him than just fashion fun. After 25 years in the business, seeing every age group and demographic dressed like him feels like the “ultimate trophy.” His message to fans? If you’re putting on the bald cap, you better be ready to have the time of your life. Now he’s turning the look into history. Pitbull is attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps at his headlining show at Hyde Park during BST Hyde Park in London on July 10. The idea picked up steam after being championed by BBC Radio 1’s Greg James, and organizers are officially making the record attempt happen. Before London turns into the world’s biggest shiny dome, Pitbull will warm up with shows including the Stagecoach Festival in Indio and a run of U.S. dates before heading to Europe in late June.
