Taylor Swift is stepping onto the ice — at least in spirit. On Monday, the U.S. Olympic figure skating team dropped a hype video introducing its women’s trio, the self-dubbed “Blade Angels,” with Swift narrating the rollout. The skaters: Amber Glenn, Alysa Liu and Isabeau Levito. Swift opens the clip by introducing the athletes before calling them “three American showgirls on ice,” a wink to her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl. She says their stories are the kind that capture hearts — and she backs it up with specifics. The Blade Angels competed in the Women’s Short Program yesterday and return for the Free Skate tomorrow at the Milan Games. Off the ice, the trio has leaned into their tight bond. Glenn has described her Olympic journey as long and difficult but driven by determination. Liu has admitted she felt mentally checked out during her first Olympic run and now feels more excited about the sport than ever. Levito says despite their different personalities, they’re united by the same goal: skate their best and let the chips fall where they may.
