Jason Momoa is heading to Super Earth. The action star has signed on to headline Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions’ film adaptation of Helldivers, based on the hit video game franchise. Justin Lin is directing, and the movie is locked for a November 10, 2027 theatrical release — currently with no major studio competition on that date. The Helldivers franchise debuted in 2015, but it was Helldivers 2 that really detonated, selling more than 12 million copies in just four months after its 2024 launch on PS5 and PC. The sequel has since expanded to Xbox and is still pulling strong numbers. The story follows an elite military force battling alien threats to protect the satirical sci-fi world of Super Earth.
