Ricky Gervais has donated $3.24 million from the profits of his Mortality stand-up tour to nearly two dozen animal charities worldwide. In typical Gervais fashion, he joked that instead of giving it away, he could have spent it on “30 speedboats” and partied around the Mediterranean. A filmed version of Mortality will hit Netflix on December 30.
