Netflix To Acquire Warner Bros. Studios, HBO and HBO Max In Blockbuster Deal
Netflix just dropped a nuclear blast on Hollywood by announcing it’s buying Warner Bros., HBO, and HBO Max for $82.7 billion. The deal is set to close in late 2026 after Warner’s corporate split is finalized. Netflix says the goal is simple: mash Warner’s legendary archive — everything from Casablanca to Harry Potter — with Netflix juggernauts like Stranger Things and Squid Game to dominate storytelling for the next century. Warner’s boss says it’s a historic merging of two storytelling giants. Netflix says HBO’s entire library will get folded into its empire. As for HBO Max? No shutdown date yet, but let’s be honest… it’s already looking like the Titanic after it hit the iceberg.
