Rumer Willis just gave an update on her dad, Bruce Willis, as he continues his fight with frontotemporal dementia. She shared on Instagram that Bruce doesn’t always recognize her anymore, but she still feels a “spark” in him — and she knows he can feel the love when she hugs him. She brings her young daughter Louetta on visits, and says she’s grateful they can still spend that time together, even if the reality is painful. Bruce retired from acting in 2022 and has since been moved to a separate one-story home with 24/7 care, a decision his wife Emma called incredibly difficult but ultimately the right one. The setup gives him more independence and lets friends and family visit without overwhelming him. Rumer acknowledged the complexity of the question “How is he doing?” and said bluntly that anyone with FTD is not doing great, but he’s “doing okay” within the limits of the disease.
