American Psyco Author Blasts Liberal Movie Critics Over Leonardo DiCaprio's Woke Film 'One Battle After Another'

American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis just took a chainsaw — figuratively — to Leonardo DiCaprio’s new movie One Battle After Another, blasting it as an overhyped, politically driven mess. Speaking on his podcast, Ellis called the film “not very good” and claimed it’s being hailed as a “masterpiece” only because it aligns with what he called a “leftist sensibility.” He described the 162-minute thriller as “a musty relic of the post-Kamala Harris era” and said it already feels “very dated” for October 2025. The film — directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, starring DiCaprio and Teyana Taylor — follows a washed-up former far-left revolutionary who must reunite with his old comrades to rescue his missing daughter from a white supremacist cabal. Its unapologetically progressive themes, including an opening sequence where activists raid an ICE detention center, have made it a lightning rod for political criticism. Conservative pundits — from Ben Shapiro to Alex Jones — have slammed the film as “pro-Antifa,” “pretentious,” and “radical propaganda.” Still, One Battle After Another has earned rave reviews from Hollywood heavyweights. Steven Spielberg called it “insane” and “incredible,” while Taylor Swift gushed that Anderson is “operating on a higher level.”
