Instead, Sinclair will preempt the show with local news, citing concerns about Kimmel’s controversial remarks following the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Sinclair says the suspension will remain until ABC addresses “professionalism and accountability,” calling on Kimmel to apologize directly to the Kirk family and donate to Turning Point USA. The company’s biggest affiliate affected is WJLA in Washington, D.C., meaning even Trump and D.C. insiders won’t see the comeback.
