Curtis broke down in tears, saying that while she disagreed with “almost every point” Kirk ever made and found many of his views abhorrent, his death still shook her. She emphasized that he was “a man of faith” and said she hoped that in his final moments he felt connected to that faith. The actress also criticized how easily people can access graphic videos of the shooting online, comparing their circulation to past moments of national trauma like the Sept. 11 coverage and the Zapruder film of President Kennedy’s assassination.
