Sting is being sued by guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland, who claim they’re owed millions in lost royalties. Lawyers reportedly tried to settle out of court but hit a wall, prompting Summers and Copeland to file a case against Sting and his company, Magnetic Publishing Limited, in London’s High Court. The Police disbanded in 1984 after a blistering run of hits, with Sting credited as the sole songwriter on classics like Roxanne, Message in a Bottle, and Every Breath You Take. That last one alone still earns him an estimated $744,000 a year. A spokesman for Sting insists the lawsuit isn’t about Every Breath You Take—but didn’t offer further details.
