Dan Aykroyd, one of the original cast members of Saturday Night Live, chose not to attend the show's 50th anniversary celebration in February, despite a star-studded lineup of returning alumni. Aykroyd told Entertainment Weekly he stayed home by choice so he could actually watch and enjoy the entire special live with his family—popcorn in hand and smile on face. He explained that had he attended, he would’ve been working or stuck in a dressing room and missed the full experience.
