Emma Watson, best known as Hermione Granger from Harry Potter, has been banned from driving in the UK for six months after getting caught speeding—doing 38 mph in a 30 mph zone back on July 31, 2024. She already had nine points on her license, and this new infraction pushed her over the limit. Along with the ban, she was fined nearly $1,400. Watson didn’t attend the five-minute court hearing, but her lawyer told the judge, "She is in a position to pay the fine"—because of course she is. Watson has been living in Oxford, pursuing a master’s in creative writing after stepping back from acting, saying she felt “caged” by the industry.
