Following the massive success of Wicked (Part 1), which earned 10 Oscar nominations and grossed over $756 million globally, director Jon M. Chu has signed on to direct a live-action Hot Wheels movie for Mattel and Warner Bros. Pictures. Writers Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier (Creed II, They Cloned Tyrone) will pen the script. The action-packed movie will feature sleek, high-performance vehicles inspired by Mattel’s iconic die-cast toy brand, although specific plot details remain under wraps.
