FX is developing a new series called Very Young Frankenstein, inspired by Mel Brooks’ 1974 comedy classic Young Frankenstein. Mel Brooks will serve as an executive producer, alongside What We Do in the Shadows creators Taika Waititi, Garrett Basch, and Stefani Robinson, with Robinson also writing and showrunning. The original film starred Gene Wilder as the grandson of Dr. Frankenstein, with Peter Boyle as the monster and Marty Feldman as Igor (pronounced “Eye-gor”). Other notable characters included Inga, Fraü Blucher, and a cameo by Gene Hackman. Plot details for the new show are still under wraps.
