Capitol Police Speak On 'Troubling' Pizza Deliveries
Federal authorities are investigating a series of anonymous pizza deliveries sent to the homes of U.S. lawmakers and Capitol Police leadership, raising security concerns. Both Democrats and Republicans have been targeted, as well as current and former Capitol Police officials. Investigators fear the pizzas may serve as a threat or intimidation tactic, signaling that someone knows where these individuals live. The deliveries occurred amid what Capitol Police describe as a "heightened threat landscape", with most pizzas arriving the same weekend authorities were searching for a suspect in the fatal shooting of two Minnesota lawmakers. That suspect allegedly had a hit list of additional political figures. The Capitol Police are working with multiple agencies and emphasize that threats against elected officials will not be tolerated.
