Blake Lively's Private Texts With Taylor Swift Will Be Released In Lawsuit Saga
Blake Lively’s legal feud with It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni just escalated, as a judge denied her request to block the release of private communications with former best friend Taylor Swift. The messages—subpoenaed by Baldoni’s legal team—may include texts and emails tied to the film, and potentially Lively’s alleged attempts to intimidate Baldoni by invoking Swift, who she once bizarrely referred to as “my dragon.” Although Swift avoided being subpoenaed directly, Baldoni’s team obtained the info they needed from her father, Scott Swift, who reportedly volunteered it to protect his daughter from further legal entanglement. The move followed allegations that Lively’s lawyers attempted to coerce Swift into publicly supporting Lively—an accusation Lively’s team has denied and labeled “categorically false.” The legal drama stems from Lively’s original sexual harassment lawsuit filed last December, which Baldoni answered with a $400 million countersuit accusing Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds of defamation. The defamation claim has since been dropped, but civil extortion and invasion of privacy claims remain.
