Anne Burrell, Food Network Star And Worst Cooks In America Host Dies At 55

Celebrity chef Anne Burrell died yesterday at her home in Brooklyn, New York, at the age of 55. Known for her spiky platinum hair, vibrant personality, and culinary talent, Burrell was best known as the longtime host of Worst Cooks in America on Food Network. She also starred in several other shows, including Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and Iron Chef America, and published two successful cookbooks. Burrell began her culinary journey inspired by her mother’s cooking and Julia Child, eventually graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 1996. She trained in Italy and worked in renowned New York restaurants before making her mark on television. She is survived by her husband, Stuart Claxton—whom she met on Bumble and married in 2021—his son Javier, her mother Marlene, sister Jane, brother Ben, and her children Isabella, Amelia, and Nicolas. Her family remembered her as a radiant and loving presence who touched millions through her warmth, generosity, and passion for food. No word on a cause of death.
