Mel Brooks Will Reprise His Spaceballs Roll For Sequel 40 Years After Original
Yesterday, Amazon MGM Studios announced that Mel Brooks, 98, will step in front of the camera to reprise his Spaceballs role as Yogurt — a gold-skinned parody of Star Wars fan-favorite Yoda — in the upcoming sequel to his 1987 parody that he is making with Josh Gad. "I told you we'd be back," Brooks wrote in a post he shared on X yesterday - alongside a Star Wars-style title crawl video that announced the untitled movie will hit theaters in 2027. "After 40 years, we asked, 'What do the fans want?' But instead, we're making this movie," Brooks himself said in an appearance at the end of the video. "May the Schwartz be with you," he added.
