Justin Baldoni's $400 Million Countersuit Against Blake Lively Dismissed Amid 'It Ends With Us' Drama
Justin Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Blake Lively has been dismissed, delivering a major setback to the It Ends With Us director. Lively had initially sued Baldoni in December 2024 for sexual harassment during the film’s production. Baldoni denied the allegations and responded with a defamation suit targeting Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, her publicist Leslie Sloane, and The New York Times. However, a federal judge tossed out Baldoni’s case, ruling Lively’s statements were protected as part of legal proceedings and finding no evidence of defamation by the others. A separate $250 million suit against The New York Times was also dismissed for lack of malice. Lively’s legal team called the decision a “total victory” and now seeks attorney’s fees, treble, and punitive damages. The feud has caused major fallout for Baldoni, including being dropped by WME and facing additional lawsuits. His efforts to push back, including launching a personal website, have so far failed to gain traction.
