Blumhouse In Talks To Buy 'Saw' Franchise From Twisted Pictures
Blumhouse may soon take a stake in the Saw franchise, reviving acquisition talks with Twisted Pictures that previously stalled. Negotiations are back on for Blumhouse to acquire Twisted Pictures’ ownership share of the long-running horror franchise, co-owned with Lionsgate, which has distributed all Saw films since the original debuted in 2004. If the deal closes, it would partially return Saw to the hands of its original creators, James Wan and Leigh Whannell. Wan’s production company, Atomic Monster, merged with Blumhouse in early 2024.
