In his memoir My Next Breath and during a chat on Kelly Ripa’s Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast, Renner explained he experienced what he believes was the afterlife — describing it as an "electric serenity" and "exhilarating peace." The 14,000-pound snowcat had run him over while he was trying to save his nephew, and Renner was clinically dead for a brief moment. The peace he felt was so profound that he said he didn’t want to return — and was actually pissed off when he was revived, jokingly recalling his reaction as: “Aww!” The experience left him unafraid of death and deeply changed.
