Hackers Arrested After Fencing $600K Of Stolen Taylor Swift Eras Tour Tickets
Two hackers were arrested for allegedly stealing and reselling over 900 digital concert tickets, primarily for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, making more than $600,000 in profit. Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz stated that the suspects exploited a loophole in an offshore ticket vendor to steal and resell tickets at inflated prices. The scheme involved two individuals working for a StubHub contractor in Jamaica, who stole ticket URLs and sent them to co-conspirators in Queens. Tyrone Rose and Shamara P. Simmons now face multiple charges, including grand larceny and computer tampering, and could receive up to 15 years in prison.
