Amy Schumer recently shared her difficult experience with Ozempic, revealing that a specific gene made it nearly impossible for her to continue taking the weight-loss drug. Schumer, who first tried Ozempic in 2022, had to stop due to extreme nausea and vomiting. She later discovered she has the GDF15 gene, which makes her highly sensitive to nausea—something she also experienced during pregnancy. While she lost 30 pounds on the drug, she felt so weak and bedridden that she couldn’t even play with her young son. Reflecting on the experience, she admitted, “I looked great, but I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow—so what’s the point?”
