Michelle Yeoh will lead Prime Video‘s upcoming Blade Runner 2049 sequel series. The sci-fi franchise, which began with 1982’s Ridley Scott-directed Blade Runner, is set in a dystopian Los Angeles, where artificial humans (aka replicants) are built to work for a major corporation in space. But where there is oppression, there will always be advanced replicants willing to fight their way to freedom. Yeoh is reportedly playing Olwen, a “replicant near the end of her life.” The series is titled Blade Runner 2099. No word on a premiere date.
