Quaid also referenced his 2004 disaster movie, The Day After Tomorrow, to emphasize the possibility of such a catastrophic event happening in real life. Without electricity, basic necessities such as water, gas, and food would become scarce, and society could quickly regress to a much earlier time period. Quaid warned that if the power grid were to go down, it could be even more devastating than the Covid pandemic.
