Airport Police Seize Loaded Gun From Mike Epps, Who Says He Forgot It In His Bag

Comic Mike Epps was discovered to have a loaded revolver and ammunition in his possession at the Indianapolis International Airport on Sunday. He was visiting the town to start a national comedy tour and was found carrying a Smith & Wesson .38-caliber firearm at a TSA checkpoint lane early in the morning. Following a report of a possible firearm inside a backpack on a screening table, an Indianapolis Airport Authority officer contacted Epps, who claimed that he had forgotten about the weapon inside his bag. The gun was loaded with four rounds of Hornady .38 Special ammunition, but none were placed under the firing pin. The airport dispatch conducted a weapons check and the police kept the gun, but didn’t arrest the comedian. They also provided him with info on how to retrieve the firearm. The incident was reported to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office to decide whether or not to press charges.
