Jessica Simpson turned down the chance to bed her childhood crush in The Notebook, because she didn’t want to have sex on screen. She was approached to play the role Rachel McAdams eventually landed in the 2004 film, but passed because producers refused to budge on a sex scene with Ryan Gosling. Simpson makes the revelation in her new memoir, Open Book, explaining: “I turned it down because they wouldn’t budge on taking out the sex scene, and it would have been with Ryan Gosling, of all people.” She reveals she fell in love with the actor during her failed audition for The Mickey Mouse Club – when she was 12.
