OFFICER RECOVERS STOLEN HANDGUNS: On May 11 at 5:13 p.m., Officer L. Hamilton initiated a traffic stop in the area of Crain Highway at Route 5 in Waldorf. Upon making contact with the driver, Officer Hamilton learned there were firearms inside the car. Three firearms were located, two of which were reported stolen from another state. The driver, Garland Scott Thompson, 36, of Texas, was arrested and charged with possession of  stolen guns and illegal transport of firearms. 
 
WOMAN CHARGED WITH FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On May 8 at 5:15 p.m., officers responded to the area of Poplar Lane in Indian Head for the report of a fight in progress involving juveniles. Officers learned some of the people involved in the fight had left with an adult, who also was engaged in the altercation. Further investigation showed Latisha Shenita Ross, 32, of Indian Head, struck several people with a tire iron and then fled with several juveniles. She was located, arrested, and charged with first-degree assault. Six juveniles were charged with second-degree assault. Officer T. Willis investigated.
 
THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLES: On May 5, unknown suspect(s) broke into several cars in the 11600 block of Marston Moor Lane in Waldorf and stole various items that had been left inside the vehicles. PFC R. Brooks is investigating.
 
FUGITIVES LOCATED DURING SEARCH WARRANT: On May 4 at 7:26 p.m., officers served a search warrant at a house in the 10600 block of Quillback Street in Waldorf. Pursuant to the search, a quantity of crack cocaine, cocaine HCL, a digital scale, US currency and other drug distribution paraphernalia were located. In addition, three people inside the house had open warrants. Walter Leon Skinner, III, 28, of Waldorf, had open warrants for drug distribution; Crystal Marie Woods, 25, of Waldorf, had open warrants for failing to appear in court on theft and probation violations; and Elijah Emmanuel Taylor, 20, had two open warrants through another county.
