Margot Robbie Breaks Her Silence On Barbie's Oscar Snub

Margot Robbie has broken her silence on Barbie director Greta Gerwig's controversial Oscars snub, days after the filmmaker failed to receive a nomination in the directing category. Speaking at a Q&A hosted by the Academy Museum on Tuesday, Robbie said Greta should have been nominated. “Obviously, I think Greta should be nominated as a director, because what she did is a once-in-a-career, once-in-a-lifetime thing, what she pulled off, it really is. But it’s been an incredible year for all the films,” she said. Both Robbie and Gerwig were snubbed for individual Oscar nominations, despite the film receiving eight other nods. A lot of people thought Robbie deserved a nomination for Best Actress and Greta for Best Director.
