The ongoing controversy surrounding Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's French vineyard has once again taken center stage. Nouvel, Jolie's former investment company, recently filed legal documents asserting that Pitt has "stripped" and "looted" Château Miraval, the winery they jointly acquired in 2008, in an attempt to regain control of the enterprise. At present, both Pitt and Nouvel own a 50 percent stake in Château Miraval. However, Jolie's former investment company alleges in court papers that Pitt has been trying to "seize de facto control" of the winery by squandering millions of dollars on a series of self-indulgent projects. The documents further claim that Pitt has sought to transfer "half of the value of Château Miraval's most valuable assets" to his friend and business partner without compensation. Nouvel also asserts that Pitt has recklessly depleted "the company's assets to benefit his other businesses." A source close to the legal dispute, speaking to "Entertainment Tonight," dismissed the allegation that Pitt looted the company as "absurd," pointing out that the actor has actually invested millions more into the business.
