The eight-episode reimagining of the 1987 psychosexual thriller starring Michael Douglas and Glenn Close received a 33 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It also got a score of 47 out of 100 on Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, indicating mixed or average reviews. In a review of the series, Tim called it “Fatally Atrocious” and labeled it a “disaster” for its “excessively lengthy re-litigation of Alex's childhood and mental health and Dan's straight-white-male privilege.”
