Demi Moore is reportedly the victim of major credit card fraud. TMZ is reporting that the actress has lost $169,000 after a fraudster got hold of her credit card details and went on a shopping spree. According to the criminal complaint, 35-year-old David Matthew Read reported the star’s American Express card as lost or stolen in March. He then somehow managed to get hold of her newly-issued card, which had reportedly been sent out from the company via FedEx. After acquiring the card, TMZ reports Read went on a luxury shopping spree in Los Angeles and racked up the vast sum in a matter of weeks. “The feds say he went on a spending spree, hitting a handful of Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue stores in the L.A. area,” TMZ shared. Police reportedly arrested the crook in April after spotting him in surveillance footage at various retail stores, as well as at the FedEx depot he used to collect the card. Read allegedly confessed immediately and is currently serving time in Los Angeles County Jail.
